Over 55 Location

Wondering if the trailer at the lot where Thorndike will be building the over 55 community is going to stay there? I am hoping this is not a sign of things to come? It looks horrible.

MGravinese The owners of the property have been granted a permit to place the trailer at the location and perform remodeling work to it. They will be applying for a special permit from the Halifax ZBA to utilize it as an office. At this time, they cannot occupy the trailer in any capacity until they have approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA).

Cody Haddad, Town Administrator Hmm.. they are remodeling it on the property? Don't they have other locations they can do that? Its an open field. Who granted them the permit for the trailer to be put there?

MGravinese The permit was granted by the Building Commissioner for the placement and remodeling of the trailer at this property. As for other property locations to do this, that is not something that the Town gets involved with. This property owner has the same rights as any other property owner in Halifax who could obtain a permit to place a trailer and remodel it.
